AKO- Aktionskreis Ostafrika e.V. (Action Group East Africa) is a charitable organisation with its base and head office in Traunstein, Germany. Its founders were dedicated people interested in Africa who in 1974 began to build up humanitarian support for East Africa. Out of this, Aktionskreis Ostafrika was formed and became a registered charity in Traunstein in 1987, under the number VR 570.
Who we are
The organization has around 600 members, of all ages and professions. Many of our members collaborate on the preparation of our projects in Europe and implementation in Africa. Material and monetary donations, membership fees and collaboration are the foundation of our activities. Branches in Traunstein, Hilden and Ulm strengthen our foundation and our branch in Moshi, Tanzania, maintains constant contact with our projects.
Responsible and qualified experts of all professions help to ensure the successful implementation of our projects. We are pleased to welcome every new active or passive member. Please support us, we need your engagement too.
