On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Rosenheim Eye Clinic, a prestigious scientific symposium was held there on 17 May. At the end of this event, Aktionskreis Ostafrika from Traunstein was honoured for its commendable contribution to the primary care of eye diseases in Tanzania through the payment of fees for participants
Dr. Seher (left), Dr. Pfeiler (second from left), Prof. Dr. Eckehard Fabian (centre) and Prof. Dr. P. Eberwein (right) presented Hans Siemer, member of the AKO Executive Committee, accompanied by AKO member and ophthalmologist Dr. Dillinger (2nd from right), with a cheque for which the sum was subsequently increased by a further 1000 Euros.
With a further donation from the Lions Club Eckernförde, an urgently needed vitrectomy machine can now be bought for the community clinic surgery and brought in the next AKO container to the eye clinic at the Kibosho Hospital.
